The Flight to Egypt is carved in lime wood and is only one inch thick. This woodcarving is one of Jose’s favourite carvings because he felt like he had achieved a great deal of depth and perspective within such a thin piece of wood. The carving is 20” x 15” approx and took 270 hours to carve. This piece has been featured in magazines as far away as America.
